At the core of the global supply chain, Trafigura seamlessly connects essential resources, fueling the construction and empowerment of our world. The newly established Trafigura office in Shanghai embodies the principles of internationalization and adaptability while maintaining an informal and relaxed ambience.

Upon examining the company’s new branding strategy, it became apparent that we could draw inspiration from the primary modes of shipping and their natural counterparts: Air, Water, and Earth. The design seamlessly incorporates these elements, where straight lines and the texture of the materials employed symbolize Earth’s Resources, reflecting Trafigura’s robust presence in metals and minerals trading. The gradient blue floor carpet mirrors Water, representing the dynamic vitality of the company and its shipping services. The flexible and multipurpose spaces embody the Air element, mirroring Trafigura’s diverse business fields. The design philosophy, characterized by clean lines, open spaces and brightness, aligns with the standards befitting esteemed global companies like Trafigura.

The office layout is wisely divided into two distinct areas: a public zone and a dedicated working area. The public space features a welcoming pantry, centered around an island and adorned with upper vegetation over the cabinets, creating an inviting informal reception area. A movable partition wall in the pantry allows for the transformation of the space into a larger room, facilitating training sessions for Trafigura personnel. Separated by a glass partition, the working area revolves around an L-shaped open space, with a focal point being a small meeting area for internal discussions. Along the longer internal wall, a small cafeteria, mirroring the design elements of the pantry, offers a comfortable space for employees. Three phone booths and a small seating area complete the setup, providing employees with an informal and flexible working environment.
